An evening like Marcel Proust

– Rotary friendship in the sunshine: Our summer festival in Flörsheim on June 24, 2024 –

It was a wonderful, very relaxed evening, bathed in golden sunlight: our summer party at the adventure playground in Flörsheim took place in ideal conditions. And the mayor and club member Bernd Blisch even had the lawn mowed for us... what more could you want?

There were lively conversations, fresh food from the grill, a selection of beer and wine... and there were three surprises: First, President Markus Ornau presented the Paul Harris Award to Stefan Fandel for his tireless efforts to successfully increase our club's social media presence. Then he welcomed a new member into our ranks: Christian Ostendorf, who we already know from his talk on the energy transition and who will definitely be an asset to our club. Then the president himself was surprised: Frank Heckert thanked him for a colorful, interesting and surprising year that has fueled our curiosity and breathed new life into the club. As a symbol, he presented the president with a kite - for further highs!

The evening on the green meadow was a wonderful end to a fantastic Rotary year, through which Markus Ornau led us confidently and with much joy and commitment. And he was an example of how beautiful Rotary friendship can be.
