In the Palm Garden of Friendship

Visit from our friends from RC Coevorden, 13-15 May 2022

After many months of pandemic, the friendship between our club and RC Coevorden blossomed in many beautiful new ways "as it did in May". 21 friends traveled from Holland to celebrate a happy reunion on Friday evening in the Rüsselsheim "mk | hotel" with wonderful weather, champagne and a buffet.

On Saturday, the group's first destination was the Frankfurt Palmengarten - and the sun wasn't the only thing shining. The butterfly house and the Tropicarium were just two of the attractions to be admired in Frankfurt's green oasis. The most popular mobile phone motif was the magnificent rhododendrons, which you couldn't get enough of. However, any hunger pangs that arose around lunchtime were satisfied with a picnic on the lawn in Grüneburgpark - with hearty snack bags that the Rüsselsheim head Rotarian and head chef Kurt E. had lovingly filled with tasty contents. What a beautiful picture: Both clubs sat down almost entirely on the grass!

Then we went on to the campus of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, where a very interesting tour with information on architecture and history was on the agenda. In a quick run-through (and shortened by a few stops): Poelzigbau/IG-Farbenhaus Adorno's desk Tour of the casino House of Finance Body of Knowledge. Everyone was enthusiastic and had a lot to talk about at dinner in the Novum Select Clubhotel in Rüsselsheim in the evening. And there was still something to talk about on Sunday morning - at the farewell breakfast together. We are already looking forward to the next meeting in Holland - in June 2023!
